Do you think TV license is to expensive. id like to partition against it how would i do this? UK?
i think the tv license is to expensive how would i get up a partition against it..
Additional Details
tv license is now about £138.0 per year dats alot of money for repeats and junk tv...

Well, what does it work out as per day? about 0.38p! And if you watch an hour & 1/2 of tv per day then think how very very cheap that is in comparison to seeing a film at the cinema, where you dont leave with much change off £10!

Council tax on the other hand, that is one charge worth petitioning about! I pay £100 a month to have the bin emptied (and I suppose a few other necessary services!) But, if you hold a rally about that, and let me know and I will chain myself to something! ! !
:o)

boatyboo
well, first learn to spell petition, then you can find it on the government website.

look on teh government website (dunno what it is). you can create a petition, which they will then create a link for, which you can copy and paste to anyone you want so they can sign it too. all the signed petition entries will be saved onto the site so when you feel you have enough signings, you can submit it, or print it off to send to them ,etc

good luck with making tv licences cheaper. most people dont really mind tho (however i can see people getting annoyed pretty soon as the bbc becomes less of a public service channel and more like trash everyday)

first off I know 138 pounds is a lot in one go but that's only 11.50 pr month that gets you 2 TV stations 2 digital 1 24 news 2 children's and Parliament also all BBC radio stations world national and local this is what your money pays for plus the iplayer so look at your TV viewing and see how many times you watch a programme if it's only 2 hrs pr month you've got your money's worth

I think it's good value.

I listen to one of the BBC Radio Stations (BBC Southern Counties Radio) as my main station.

My children watch CBeebies on TV, and use the CBeebies website a lot, and it has definitely improved their maths skills (particularly Numberjacks.)

I regularly use the BBC News website.

I, personally, watch little telly (none so far this month), but I don't resent the licence fee because it pays for lots of stuff I _do_ use.

I used to feel that the BBC was expensive, then I worked for a bit in the US, and saw how bad TV was when 1/4 of it was advertising... Just look at 24 - it's meant to be 24 hours long eh???? Take out the commercial breaks - total DVD running time - 18 hours :-)

well no not really, TV license is basically for the maintenance of TV Masts and obviously for the BBC. The BBC don't offer adverts to cover the cost of maintenance so they ask for a minor £70 for a year, not much for great British TV

adam d®
I think its a bargain.

The closest equivalent is a Sky basic package which is nearly £200 a year, and I think the BBC is tonnes better quality than channel upon channels of utter utter crap.

Pay up you tightarse and enjoy 30 minutes of television for every 30 minutes of time.
