I'd certainly like to hear your thinking why it's not fair.
Most salaried workers and small business owners also work 'overtime' (i.e., more than 40 hrs a week, more than 8 hrs a day). If we were to change the rules and say hourly employees' overtime is now going to be tax exempt...then those who work for other-than-hourly-wages will be paying more to make up for the lost revenue.
Does that result sound fair to you?

Why not? It is income.

Yes. Do not be another deadbeat that wants to avoid an obligation.

there are many things that are not fair about this system.yet it is the only one we have. overtime IS part of your income so yes it is fair ...the loop holes for the rich are not and need to be abolished so THEY also pay thier FAIR share.

Why wouldn't it be? You pay taxes on regular hours that you work - why would overtime be any different? You are paying on your income, and overtime gives you income.

I think its fair that over time is taxed...do i think its fair that someone making millions a year gets a huge refund and the person that works 70 hours a week barely gets one...no...support the fair tax

Yes, why wouldn't it be?

it is hard to say whether it is fair or not. however, as it almost universally accepted that you have to pay on your income, no matter your income derived from part time or full time job you still have to pay.
that is why some economist critic the income tax that it discourage people from working hard (why do i have to work that hard when i have to earn a lot i have to pay a lot too?)
