It is a tax form that your bank would send you to show how much interest income they paid you during a given tax year. Also certain brokerage accounts and mutual funds pay interest so you might get a 1099int from them also.

Yes. If for example you have a savings account or interest bearing checking account and the banking institution pays you interest on those deposits then they report it to the IRS and send you notice via a 1099 int. You are then required to include it on your return as income.

Yes, it is a statement from an employer that shows how much income you made. If taxes, or any other deductions were made. In other words it simply is a form similar to a W-2
