Does anyone else like the idea of getting a few months out of the year with no taxes?
I would love to see the government run with this idea. I believe they won't do it though because during those two months people would realize how much money they pay in for taxes. What do you think?

Well, I like money... and a two month tax holiday would give me more of it. Therefore, I would like a two month tax holiday.

maddojo
Let's see...
2 months without taxes... good idea, except they'll make up for the lost revenue by taxing the other 10 months more, so there is no net benefit.
Don't hold your breath.

Blinded
No.. I don't really like the idea right now in this economic crisis.

Yes, it is beneficial for each individual for us to have no taxes for a month or two.. but then again, our national security such as the police force and hospitals that are paid by the goverment through our taxes will be cut down due to having little budget that month or two.

So no. We need to pay taxes to help ourselves. :)

And how would the government pay its bills with that much less tax coming in?

I think the new version of the Big Plan is three sales tax holidays each being 10 business days in its term. To pull out two months as tax exempt months would make most tax planners dump the income dollars into those months. No bureaucrat could deal with the plan. These are the people who needed zip codes to deliver the mail. Months to send a $300 to 600 check to the public.

travelguruette
Of course everyone would like it. How would the government pay for roads, police, firemen, etc?

xtraheavy01
Wtf?

States collect sales tax -Not the US Government

If they choose not to deduct taxes out your pay check, that could only be bad come filing time.

I like paying taxes. The more taxes I pay, the more money I made.

rstump1
This will never happen. Think about it, you are taxed for just about everything. It would be nice to get a holiday on income taxes but you ultimately are still going to be taxed on that income elsewhere.

It would be no problem, just pay your 10% of your annual tax obligations each month for 10 months and take two off.
