You are liable for 100% of the Council Tax.
However, as you're student friends are deemed invisible for Council Tax purposes you can claim a 25% single resident discount.
This is unless you live in a 'multi occupation' property, where all resients are deemed to have their own one-room bedsits with different addresses (such as room 1, 24 Smith Street & room 2, 24 Smith Street etc). In this case the property owner is liable to Council Tax, not the residents. |

My friend and I who are no longer students but live with students share the council tax bill of £21.10 per month. |

It's the property which is assessed for council tax, not the individuals who live in it*. So unless your landlord is paying the council tax (in which case part of your rent goes towards it), then you need, between you, to pay it all. If you own the property, then you are liable for the whole amount.
Phone your local authority and ask for the council tax department.
* however a single person pays less - i.e. one person on their own in the property with no-one else living there. |

Our council has just admitted it spends 47% of its council tax income on housing benefit.
That sickens me, I wish some people would get a job and pay their own. |

Well you would have to pay all of it because you are the only one eligible to pay it. If you all were eligible to pay it then you would all split the cost, you don't all have to pay £90 each or whatever it is. I don't think it's very fair on you though! You get a single persons discount when you live alone, I don't know if you can get this seeing as you're the only person paying, they might consider you as living alone. I'd phone the council. I hate council tax, ours is so high and the council is one of the worst. They call it Blaenau bent instead of Blaenau Gwent. |

Single persons which in my case is still £149 per month!
Give me thumbs down! I know I am right!
Qualifying students pay NOTHING! The other person qualifies for a single persons discounted rate! |
