A rule of thumb is 33%.

Tax withholdings are not based on your hourly wage. They are based on your yearly income and what you claim on your W-4 (i.e. single, married, number of dependents etc). Have you filled out a W-4 yet for your employer? They can tell you once they get that, what your takehome pay will be.

That depends upon how many hours you work per pay period, your filing status, number of withholding exemptions, other income, deductions, etc. There is no set tax amount expressed as a percentage of an hourly wage.

Child of God
It totally depends on what you filed on your tax forms. But the more you make the more they take.

andy
depends. i get taxed WAY less than my friend. i make $8 an hour and she gets like 6.75. she works more and her paycheck goes from like 550 down to like 320 from taxes. i get about 200 and it goes down to like 175. its just one of those things.

how much taxes that is taken out of your pay depends on how many dependents you are claiming on your W-4 and if you are married or single, the highest that is taken out is if you claim single with 0 dependents, then married with 0, then gets less with each dependent

your employer should have given you a new W-4 to fill out for the 2007, they are due by 15 Feb, well may thats just my employer since im claming tax exempt.

It depends on what state you are in some have a state tax also. if you are single with no dependents you can count on 3.80 per hour without state tax with 40 work week yea it sucks.

koalatcomics
depends on what state you live in but trust me, with the liberals in power it will DEFINITELY be going up.

tsull73
depends on what you claim...if you claim zero, very little is taken out, but you'll probably owe when its tax time...but not much.
