a review - but you arn't going to get a rise unless you can prove that you are worth now than you were last year. Get some evidence on how you are adding value. Good luck ! |

As long as you are performing ok or better then you should but you are not entitled, your company doesn't have to give you a rise to cover inflation etc. If your last finacial year review showed you were performing badly then they are unlikely to give you anything. |

No harm in asking. |

we get a yearly assessment which normally means a pay rise
doesn't hurt to ask does it - if you don't ask you don't get!
(just read hereto's response - i would love a job that gave that much rise a year!!!! we get between 2½ & 3½% depends on good you've been!!!!) |

Not everyone gets one and it's not the law- I didn't get one last year, but that's because the company I work for might be facing a bit of a financial hardship.
If and when I get a pay review this year, the lack of a pay rise last year will definitely be getting mentioned... |

the minimum wage goes up every October, but if you are over that it`s up to the employer |

I wish - I've always found pay rises are few and far between, no harm in asking but they don't get given automatically. I've always found small companies rarely give pay rises |

Every company/organisation is different. A lot of them will give you a pay rise at the same rate as inflation or just above. Other companies give individual performance related payrises (have you met/succeeded your targets/goals etc)and others give it depending on how well the company has done.
I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for one. I do every year and always get one. I think they'd be dissppointed if I didn't ask. |

You can ask, but it depends on the company and whether they have made a profit in the last financial year. |
