Does everyone who worked in the year 2007 get an Economic Stimulus check?
I only worked 8 months in 2007 and then the office where I worked let me and alot of other employees go because they were downsizing. I would like to know will I still get a check although I did not work for that entire year? Also because I did not work the full year will my check be less than $600?

Yes, alot of people will get less, and some people, like me will get nothing because I made "too much"

Not everyone who worked gets a stimulus payment, but if you worked for 8 months and you aren't a dependent, you most likely will if you filed a tax return. If you paid $600 or more in net federal income tax for 2007, you'd get the maximum $600, otherwise you'd get less.

You must meet the IRS criteria found on the irs site.

If you make more than $175k, you don't get it.

I am by far not a expert on this but I believe as long as you made $3,000 income, then you will get a check. I am not sure if it would be for $600 tho.

Clare
Not every person that qualifies will receive $600. In fact more will receive less than that. The amount you'll receive will be based on your 2007 income tax 1040 form. You must have made at least $3000 in earned income to qualify for the rebate.

If your tax liability was less than $300, you and your spouse (if you're married and filed jointly) will each receive $300. If it was between $300 and $600, you'll receive that amount. If it was more than $600, you'll each get $600. You'll receive $300 for each qualifying child.

No. The test is not whether you worked. Most everyone will get a check, including you, unless you are like me and made so much that the government phased you out.

kashmirkissy
Only if you filed your income tax

If you have income of $3,000 or more in the year 2007 you qualify evan those on social security disability like me, but you have to file to receive it, you will receive $300 for each qualifying child also. I looked it up on the form they sent to me. THIS WAS EDITED SO IGNORE THE THUMBS DOWN PLEASE.

yes

reecpeec
only if you filed a 2007 tax return.

shroomielove
It depends on whether or not you filed your taxes.

It doesn't matter how long you worked or whether you worked the whole year or not. You need to make $3000 or more of earned income and not be claimed by anyone else on their tax return. You should qualify for the $600 is you filed your own taxes, claimed yourself and made more than $3000.
