well since your case is very simple just e-file for free.

Same either way. Your return is a very simple one so there's NO need to pay someone to do yours. You can e-file for free through the IRS homepage at http://www.irs.gov if your income is less than about $56,000.

depends on how comfortable you are with doing them yourself - for a simple return like yours, you really don;t need a tax preparer. www.TaxSlayer.com only charges $9.95 to file online - I've used them for 3 years now with no problem - should be getting my refund this coming Friday

A 1040ez with turbo tax is your best option.

If nobody makes a mistake, it will come out the same. Unless your return is a whole lot more complex than you mention, TurboTax should work fine for you.

Depends on how complex your taxes are. Basically if you are single, no dependents, have one income, no fancy investments or anything then you're better off doing it yourself.

If you can't file on an EZ form, then you might consider having a professional do your taxes, unless you are fairly familiar with the rules/laws.

I do my own every year, but they are pretty straightforward and basic.

Online tax programs use sophisticated tax calculation software. Its very similar to the programs that most professionals use (if not from the same vendor).

So instead of the middleman you are entering your information directly and thus saving on the preparation fees.

See a review of the top online tax preparation sites.

It depends on if you want to itemize or not. If you dont then I would do it myself.
