Yes, by law they have to mail you your W-2 and it has to be post marked no later than Jan. 31

they have to send you a W2 if you worked for them last year. It's the Law.

Yes by law they are surpose to send it. If you no longer work there, it is possible that they don't know where you are. When you leave the job an employer, thinks you have jumped off the face of the earth.

You may have to contact them to request your W2.

Yes they do have to send you your W2s by law. To be on the safe side you should do a written request, but for your own information you are correct.

yes they do if they paid you and paid social security for you they have to give you a w2 but they don't have to mail till jan 31...

Yes, by law they have to send you your W2 no later than January 31st. If you don;t receive it, you can call them directly (make sure they have your current address) or you can also call the RID directly to complain that you have not received it or that they are withholding it from you.
