Does social security give bonuses directly added to your checking account?
because i recieved a phone call from 1 (104) and thats all it showed on my caller id.so i answer it and its a guy who goes by the name jordan williams and he says hes from the Department of Social Security and tells me that i am going to recieve 1000 dollars a month for 3 months directly to my bank account because ive paid my taxes on time and i wont owe the government anything because the money im getting is out of my hardearned money that went to taxes.and this guy already knew my name and everything and my address.

No, no - this is a scam. Social Security is a system that is having huge problems. Trust me, they aren't giving out refunds or bonuses or anything else like this. It is hard enough as it is to apply for social security - many have to hire lawyers just to get what rightfully belongs to them.
Besides, "paying your taxes on time" is what most people do with social security because its an automatic deduction from your paycheck through your employer.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Don't give out any information. If Social Security gave "bonuses" (they don't), you wouldn't hear about it via phone call.

OC1999
It is a SCAM. First there is no Department of Social Security, it is called the Social Security Administration. Not sure what this "everything" that he already knew about you. But hopefully you did not give him any bank account information or your SSN.

If you did you need to notify your bank immediately. You may actually need to close out that account and open another one, but your bank's fraud department will let you know what to do. If you gave him your SSN you should also place a fraud alert on your credit report.

Not true - he's a scammer/thief trying to get your personal info. I sure hope you didn't give him your banking info or any other information - if you did, call your bank, tonight if they have a fraud line, or first thing tomorrow morning at the latest.

It's very easy to get names and addresses that are attached to a particular phone number, so his knowing that doesn't mean anything.

This is a SCAM! If you gave this dirtbag your bank details, call your bank IMMEDIATELY and tell then what happened. If you do not, the scammers will drain your account completely and can use this for identity theft as well. Getting your name and address is easy -- most of us are listed in the phone book!

Kellie
Oh god I hope you did not tell him your bank account number. In fact if i were you I'd contact your local police (non-emergency) let them know what he said the number that came up on your caller id any details you have and let them investigate weather or not this is legit. It sounds like a scam. If you paid all your taxes on time, you sure as heck don't get a bonus, and if your going to get money back thats going to come when you file your taxes at the end of the year. I think your looking at identity theft.

Allowing someone to do a wire transfer into your account also allows them to take it out. It is a scam.
