Turbotax, like almost any other "Canned" software works very well if you have a straightforward return. You have a w-2 and interest & dividends, maybe capital gains then it is fine and easy. I suggest you do not use turbotax if you have to file in multiple states, unless you have at least some idea of what you're doing. The state returns are not set up as well as the Federal and rely on the input at the Federal level.

If you have Partnerships or Schedule K-1's I would recommend a pro.

Yeah my parents used it and it is very praised.

works fine and easy to use

I use it and like it a lot. It really helps me w/ my taxes. Of course I also come here and ask questions so it's not perfect.

I LOVE Turbotax. I have used it for about 4 years now. It's so easy and user friendly. Although, this year I had some problems with downloading their updates and my state forms. I have never had these problems with previous years buth this year was different. I live in the country and still have dial-up internet connection and that is what Turbotax reps said could be the problem. I had to do my taxes with Turbotax online through their website and not with their software. That was the only downside this year, but it was still easy. I just had to reinput all my information in all over again. I would definately give it a try if your taxes are pretty simple and straight forward. Hope it helps.

I've used it the last couple of years...Much easier and faster than the old way of doing things. Fairly straight forward with questions that fill in the tax returns

Totally worth it, because everytime you use TurboTax (like every year), it saves your last year's information on their secure website, and then guides you through it soooooo easily. I LOVE IT. The $9.95 thing isn't true though. With the processing fees of E-filing, it comes to $39.90. But, totally worth it. TOTALLY.

yes it works

It works well, and is as easy as any other software.
However, check the IRS website to see if you qualify to "Free File".
