Contact you local IRS department. Go to Irs.gov or you can look in your local phone book ( white pages, govt. offices) and look up your local office. You can talk to someone over the phone or set up an appointment. You 'll talk to a live person too.
here's the IRS website.

Im going through the same problem. I should've received my check in MAY; tried calling but they're always "busy." Isn't it ridiculous?! They said to call in about 8-10 weeks if I still haven't got the check from MAY. Looking at the calendar... thats July-ish. I called a week or so ago, STILL BUSY. This is BS man. I don't know wtf to do either. |

Where are you, b/c it is only "July 19, 2008" where I am at.
(lol)
Yes your stimulus could have been scheduled to be mailed June, but if you had any government debt you will not be receiving the rebate instead it is offset to the debt.
If you have not filed all your tax returns from 2002 thru 2006; then IRS is holding your refund until you are in full compliance.
And are you sure you qualify? or are you just going to the last two digits of your ssn and the schedule, have you used the Stimulus Calculator and say you qualify?
Contact IRS at 1-866-234-2942 for the Stimulus or 1-800-829-1040. call at 7a.m. |

Well today is July 19 and your check was suppose to have been mailed on june 20 that's a month I recomend that you give them a call or call the hotline to see if you can get any infor or go to the IRS Website and check up the status of your rebate and beware if you lived on other addresses it may have been mailed to that old address. Simply tell them that you did not received the check and that if posible to get another check and do not try to be slick in this matter you could ended up owing taxes |

1-800-829-1040
irs.gov has a "wheres my rebate" button to click with alot of info!
The stimulus checks are sent out based on the last 2 digits of your (the main taxpayer) social security number. If you filed after 4-15, you should expect to wait 6-8 weeks after you file to get your check. If you filed by Aprl 15th, then use the chart on irs.gov to double check when you are supposed to get your check. If you didnt get it when your supposed to, call hte irs at the number above! See dates below
If You Filed After April 15
If you filed a tax return after April 15 to claim your stimulus payment, it will generally take up to eight weeks after you filed to get your stimulus payment.
If You Filed Before April 15
Economic stimulus payments were issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer's Social Security number. For joint filers, the payment was issued based on the person listed first on the return. Payments were made by either direct deposit or paper check. Payments should have been received by close of business on the dates listed below.
DIRECT DEPOSIT
Last two SSN digits:
Payments will be transmitted no later than (and received by the end of the day of):
00 through 20
May 2
21 through 75
May 9
76 through 99
May 16
If filing or preparation fees were deducted from your 2007 refund or if you obtained a refund anticipation loan or other bank product related to your regular tax refund, your stimulus payment will be in the form of a check even though you chose direct deposit for your regular refund.
Paper checks also went out based on Social Security number. Because they were sent through the mail, it took longer for them to be received than direct deposits.
PAPER CHECK
Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than (and received a few days after):
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25
May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11
People who filed a return on or close to April 15 should have received their payment regardless of the above schedule if at least eight weeks have passed since the return was filed. |

Actually, today is 7/19, but that's still a long time for a check to be in the mail. Did you get a letter saying it would be mailed out that day, or are you just relying on the schedule by the last 2 digits of your ss#? If just the schedule, you might not be in that 1st cycle. But if you got a letter, or if the website where you key in your ss# said June 20, then it should have gone out.
At some point the call volume should go down some, and you should be able to get through to a person. Have you reported the problems with the mail to your post office? It sounds like they are having some real problems, and that could explain why your check is late.
Good luck. |
