Emails regarding large sums of money from foreigners in foreign countries?
Has anyone received emails from foreigners in countries asking to be beneficiaries to collect and distribute large sums of monies? Is this a scam? Have received 3 so far.

I've got hundreds of them. Total and complete scam. Just like the scammers that advertize loans here on Yahoo! Answers using bad English (like "larry t") and a Yahoo.com e-mail address. Pure SCAM!

Such a scam.

Yes, I recieve one on average, at least once a month. They are total scams. If you had inherited money from some unknown relative, you would not be contacted by e-mail. The scammer is attempting to get a bank account number and other information to basically rob you, ignore them.

of course it is a scam, dont even open them...especially if they are from niger, which is notorious for its scams

Think about it for a minute: Someone I've never met wants to give me millions of dollars and all I have to do is have a bank account in my name.

What part of that doesn't sound odd?

If it seems too good to be true, it's because it IS too good to be true.

Same goes for the "You've just won the "Irish", "British", "National", or whatever else, lottery.

Report it as spam to your e-mail provider and move on to your next message.

G
Yes. Of course it is...you should not open them and mark as spam.

jimobasa
I get 3-4 of these per week. The simplest thing to do is simply delete them.

Santa's_LiL_HeLpEr
IT'S A SCAM! Delete those emails immediately. Those foreigners are not looking to pass their money on to you. They are asking you to give them your bank account number so they can collect your money.
A modern day bank robbery, without you even realising it.
