I just heard that President Bush passed some bill, that will have everyone receiving an extra check from the IRS in June, for about $800. Is this true? I tried finding info on it online, but was unsuccessful. |

It also says that if single you could receive a rebate check of up to $800 and married up to $1600.

I have heard something about it. I heard it still has to be voted on by the powers in office.
You know, this was done years ago. I am thinking it was when his daddy was in office. It was like $1000.00 (well, that is what my family got anyway). It was awesome. They did it in hopes of off-setting a recession. Just like now. |

President Bush can't pass a bill. Only Congress can do that. President Bush PROPOSED a tax rebate for $800 for people paying that much in taxes. Unless Congress passes that, nothing will happen. If they do, the rebate will be whatever they pass, which might or might not be what President Bush proposed. |

they expect to have the democrats and republicans agree on a rebate program giving up to the first $8000 in income for single people and up to $16000 for married couples as tax free earnings this year. Meaning you can see up to 800 back for single and up to 1600 for married. (the fed tax rate being 10% not counting social security that they are still going to take)
since the IRS is in full tax season mode they don't expect to start printing the checks until June. |

Thanks a lot Bush that should pay for 4 months of gas, after ruining the economy and (well I guess 4,000 soldiers who died in Iraq will not be getting a check). Since the dollar is devalued, why not give money away that looses value. |
