Fuel tax in the UK?
Why no one protest anymore about excessive 80p in £ tax imposed by our goverment and then increse the duties in Mr.Gordon Browns' recent budget .

Phlodgeybodge
Protesting outside of petrol refineries and distribution centres is subject to anti-terror legislation now, so that's out.

Alternatives: Road blockades / slow drives, stop buying petrol (Not wise if you definately need a vehicle)

So, really he (Mr Brown) has us by the short and curlies. We should all start using biodiesel - but obviously once the government pick up the increase in sales they'll slam another tax on it, because they can. We could also start using pedal bikes or horses and horse drawn carriages - but again, the chancellor will impose a new "Littering the highways with Hossmuck" tax, or a "Wheel Tax" on anything with more than one wheel.

We will never beat taxes.

I think peoples attitudes seem to be like those of sheep in this country, nobody seems to take a stance anymore and they just go with the flow!

Petit Chou
Cos they're all spineless... If the country stopped..... why would we need money grabbin gits on 6 figure sums to run it.

jeff k
I think we are just so used to being ripped off by this f**king government, who do you protest to, and who listens anyway, bring on the revolution.

You can not protest outside an oil refinery as they are now subject to the anti-terrorist act. Big Bad men might wish to blow them up and could use protesters as cover

I've said this a billion times, the people need to take back their country, all they do is tax you up the ars*, it's disgusting the taxes for every single thing!!!!! What's next, being taxed for walking down Lord Street.

silly gorbie
The only thing worse that expensive fuel is no fuel at all - just wait 'till the oil runs out and you will be glad to pay anything.
