Can anyone think of a legal, yet effective, way of showing our disgust with the oil prices? Currently, I'm paying $2.84/gal. This time last month, the price was hovering around $2.25/gal.
It's time we stop buying in to the "We're switching to our summer blend" excuse and do something about it. Start boycotting oil companies, support public transportation, write a congressman, anything. We need to do something. This is getting downright ridiculous. I'm not a political person, so I could care less about contacting congress. By the time someone actually looked at a bill about gas prices, it'd either be shoved in with an abortion bill, or a bill about immigrants, so as to get vetoed. This is ridiculous people, lets think of a way to let the oil companies know we are fed up with this crap. |

I just got back from Europe where I paid nearly $8 per gallon for gasoline. The cost of fuel for my trip wasn't much more than what it costs me to run my car here, however, since the vehicle I rented was MUCH more fuel efficient than the typical gas hog in this country.
The fuel cost issue will solve itself. Look what's happened to the value of gas-guzzling SUVs in this country over the past couple of years. The dealers can't give the damn things away while highly efficient vehicles like the Toyota Prius command a significant premuim and waiting lists are long and growing. |

I think that there needs to be an organized across the country boycott on all Gasoline purchases. If we as a country would ALL just not buy any gasoline for one day I think that would send a message. Maybe find a CEO's home and camp out on the lawn like that chick did at the Bush complex in Texas. :) I read in the local paper today that the one of the major oil companies brought in a 250 billion profit this last year, That is the highest since 2003. GRRRRRR!!
Maybe we could all go back to horses and collect all the poo and fling it at the Oil Tycoon Headquarters. JJ! |

This has nothing to do with supply and demand or the oil reserves running out.
This has to do with share holders and profits.
Am I happy no, do I blame them no?
They have a product that we need and they are free to charge what ever they see fit. If I had a company that created a product that consumers needed to survive, I would not want any one telling me what I can or can not charge for it, nor would I want to have to pay extra taxes or have to explain my self to Congress for being profitable and successful.
I stopped complaining and started investing 100% of my Roth IRA in the major oil companies and have made a killing. |

Wake up... The production of oil worldwide is starting to decline. Oil is not a renewable resource. The cost and price of oil and gas will increase astronomically as demand accelerates and oil production declines.
Please query "PEAK OIL" for the facts. Even our illustrious VP described this phenomenon in a speech years ago.

I think prices wouldn't be so high if we had a better alternative to using the oil. Public transportation is not favorable, at least where I live. So until a GOOD and ECONOMIC alternative is invented I think we'll be stuck with paying the high bill. |

obviously u are in the USA. Lets all whine and cry some more we are still far below the price all oher countries are paying, Why not redirect some of the money we spend to force other countries to do what we want to research on better uses of fossil fuels or alternative energy research? |
