Keep checking your account because the IRS just started depositing the rebates at 8:30AM this morning according to this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080428/ap_on_bi_ge/tax_rebate_6

Im getting realy irritated that everyone keeps say ing to refer to the original irs site schedule. They started them early, therefor that schedule is void!!! I watched on the news on monday that they got to 21. Anyone else hear that?

Yes. They started direct depositing them 5 days early, but you may not get yours until May 2nd.

yes they start going out today but it will take up to 3 days for the first round so by wed the first round should be done...i am in the first round...

Starting within a week...first will go to Soc. Sec. #s with first two digets, up to 20 and on direct deposit. Mine is 165, so I will be in the first group...I hope!

I am confused on this as well.. I don't understand how it says that they are doing it early but the first round will be on May 2 and the next on May 9th that is the way it was to begin with. What the first set is the only ones getting theirs early??

my SS# ends in 00 so my rebate should be one of the first one deposited and I still have not received it. So maybe they will deposit today and it will go into the bank tonight after midnight.

IRS website says they started to go out today. I haven't gotten mine yet I'm in the first group of taxpayers so i will be checking a lot.

please dont go by jimmy d's answer. the checks go out per the LAST 2 digits of your social security number, NOT the first 2 digits.
