Thanks for your question! Is there a tax question here?
I can tell you from State to State there are many different rates of deductions for charitable giving...it would be much better for charities if they would strengthen their credits ....

I believe there are certain metaphysical laws which apply to charitable giving! I give at least 10% usually 15% - 20%.

Way to go on your charitable contributions!

t.
If you consider the government a charity then over 40%. If not then none, the only thing I give to charity is my time.

at least 10% of my income before tax. It said in the bible to give back to God at least 10% of your earning. But it's totally up to individual. It's great to know that you give over 15% to charities.

Who is that red head???
I'm very broke!!! I think I give a dollar out of each paycheck to a charity. I should be able to give more if I ever make more money.

WomanWhoReads
Good question! I give 9%.

I do spend 16 hours a month with non-profit groups. Maybe more, I don't add it up once I get there. Also, I donate a pint of blood every 90 days. But to be honest, I don't admire people who give a lot of money on impulse to a charity and then forget about their regular work. Yet I've often done more than I wanted to, or spent longer in helping someone out than I planned to. I guess we are all extravagant in some ways, and careless in others, and it all helps others who have their own story. Sometimes too, you can learn a lot, or find you are more patient or interested in life as a result of meeting different people who are waiting more tolerantly for their luck to change.

If you are able to meet your basic needs and you have excess money then you should consider giving it to charities. How much? It is your personal choice. There are millions of people around who don't give any money for charities.

i dont have a paycheck but i help people so i gess since i devote my life to helping people that puts me at like 90% bc i help people more than i help myself wich is sorta a bad thing bc i literally care more about them than me

Right now, I can not afford anything. When I had more I tried to give time and money, 3% to church, 2% to other religious organizations, and 5% to Unitted Way,the American Cancer Society etc., for a total of 10% of gross pay over all.

We are still providing support for our 3 grown children and their families due to the the fact that wages in the United States have not - and probably have never - kept pace with the cost of living and taxes. However, I do set aside about $100 per year to donate to the few charities I support: Habitat For Humanity, the JDRF, St Jude Hospital, and The Childrens Miracle Network.

10% each and every week. More if a cause or family in need pops up.

I don't bother with giving my money to a charity I know nothing about or where that money goes from there, I have my own scholarship programme from underprivileged children here in Thailand. I pay for them to study for a week in an English speaking country (usually Australia) and even accompany them myself. There are usually about 10 to 12 children each year and 2 accompanying adults.

I have lost faith in charities, as there is almost always some political motivation for all of them. Doing my own thing ensures the money is going exactly where it should; to the needy.

I have deducted 1% of my annual salary, plus donate one weekend a month to helping out with neighborhood and community development programs, plus help build houses with Habitat for Humanity on Saturdays that I don't work on my regular job.

The things a man does because his girlfriend moved on and out of New Orleans and he's still here, still working, still going to school, and still helping the community.
