Has anyone had their stimulus check deposited into their checking acct. yet?
Just wondering - my husband and I filed jointly - will they go by his ssn or mine?

Clare
Some received it yesterday and some today, The way I understand it is more folks will receive it tomorrow and Friday for the first batch due by May 2, but they're skipping sending any on Wednesday.

They'll go by the SS listed first on your 1040 form.

Judy1
They'll go by the number of the person listed first on the return

The IRS has announced that it will start sending the economic stimulus tax rebate checks starting on May 2, with the first round of weekly payments to be completed by early July. In addition, the IRS has launched an Online Tax Rebate Calculator to help people determine the amount of their rebate check.
Rebate check direct deposit or mailings will be made according to the last two digits of your Social Security numbers as follows:

Direct Deposit: Depending on the last two numbers of your Social Security Number, your rebate should be deposited by:

00-20: May 2
21-75: May 9
76-99: May 16

By Mail: Depending on the last two numbers of your Social Security Number, your rebate check should be mailed by:

00-09: May 16
10-18: May 23
19-25: May 30
26-38: June 6
39-51: June 13
52-63: June 20
64-75: June 27
76-87: July 4
88-99: July 11

The tax rebates created by the law will be paid to individual U.S. taxpayers during 2008. Most taxpayers will receive a rebate of $600 per person, plus $300 per dependent child under the age of 17. All taxpayers below the income limit will receive a rebate of at least $300 per person. There are other amounts depending on individual circumstances.
HOWEVER…

(this is not from irs its suck something i thought of )

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . If we spend it on gasoline, it will all go to the A-rabs. Neither will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America , so the only way I can see to keep that money here at home is to buy coldbeer, or play golf, since those are the only businesses still left in the U.S.
