Has anyone read about the taxes we're going to charged from this April?

Apparently I read the other day that at the next Budget, prices in alcohol,cigarettes and petrol are going up because of Brown's blunders before he decided he was going to become our next prime minister!!!!!!!!!!
Bottle wine up by Â£1.00 Pertrol to go up 50p a litre and cigs I think was Â£1.10
What is anyone prepared to do about all this apart from moving abroad which many seem to be doing.

Where did you read this gem? Because that's not the sort of knowledge any government lets slip prior to a budget.

Cigs, well, unlucky. Quit.

Petrol won't go up by fifty pence. This is simple. If it does, wait for the revolution. It'll be led by haulage firms because it wouldn't just be petrol that goes up, it'd be diesel too.

Wine... meh, who cares? Drink beer and spirits. Wine's for drinking with your dinner.

If the price of booze is going up then the Black Market will just be flooded with cheap booze. This is already happening. However, I should warn you that some of it, especially the bootleg Vodka, probably contains wood alc which makes a person go blind - perma-blind.

You can make up to about 30-gallons of home made booze here in UK for home consumption. You do not need permission. You can also buy wine making and beer making kits, which cut the cost of booze by about three quarters.

Don't know where you read this! Fuel is due to rise by 2p or 2.5p per litre (plus VAT on top of course!), also drink and tobacco will rise by inflation + due to "health" issues. The ever-expanding public services have to be paid for! Don't forget, Labour has increased the public payroll, including their pensions, by hundreds of thousands, since 1997, so don't expect any of them to vote against Labour next time!
