There are a few reasons you might not qualify...here are a few:
1) If you were claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return...
2) If you made less than $3000 in 2007...
3) If you are not a permenant resident of the USA...
Those are the 3 main qualifiers for the rebate...
I personally did not recieve the 2nd letter stating my rebate amount and date of deposit/check mailing. So I was getting a little worried I wouldn't get a rebate. The last 2 digits of my SSN are 74 and I was able to use the IRS "where's my rebate payment" successfully today and it told me my $ amount and when it would be direct deposited. I am sure the same will happen for you. You should be able to start using the calculator next week if you are in the 1st group of mailings...or you can call 800-829-1040 and press 7 for rebates to see if you qualify and when you will be getting your rebate. |

I got my letter in the mail but yours could have gotten lost in the mail, dont worry go to the irs website and use the wheres my stimulus payment link |

I didn't get a "letter", I got a postcard telling me about it. My postcard came mixed in with store ads. If I was not looking closely I would have threw it away. Is it possible it got tossed in the trash. Don't worry, you will get your check. |

The letter has absolutely nothing to do with whether you receive the rebate. The qualifications for the rebate are based on your filed 2007 return, not on the letter.
The letter was merely to inform people about the rebate, and that they MIGHT qualify. There are lots of people who got the letter who won't get the rebate. There are also lots of people who didn't get the letter who will get the rebate.
If you qualify, you will be in the second group. :) |

My fiance received his one week early (last Friday, SSN digits are for second disbursment bracket). He never got the second letter saying how much he was getting. I understand the letters are coming out on a delay and people are supposed to watch for them (and retain them for when they file their 2008 taxes). |

I got a letter back in I want to say in april but I am going to recommend that you go to the irs website and use the calculator this will figure out if you will get an check or not and how much. |
