I thought I would share the experience of someone who's social ends in *07*
1. I filed my taxes via turbo tax having the cost deducted from my return on 02/10/2008
2. I received my refund 02/21/2008
3. I did not ever receive the initial letter that went out regarding the stimulus, I called the 800 number for the IRS and spoke to a Mrs Barnes who said many people did not get it and that it was no big deal. She also said the 2nd letter letting you know how much you are getting will not be coming out for a few weeks as they are behind. This was 04/30/2008
4. I have a late, not defaulted student loan (that I can now pay woo hoo)
5. Monday - Wednesday, nothing posted as a stimulus payment.
6. This morning I logged into my bank, they show me pending deposits dated for 05/02/2008, there was my husbands check and our stimulus refund!
So be patient, they are coming. I hope this helps someone who is questioning their rebate Have a great day!

I used turbo tax and have been wondering the same question. I downloaded a copy of my 1040A and looked to see what the actual bank info was on the form that the IRS has. Sure enough my bank account # and Routing # was on my 1040A. So I tend to lean towards getting it directly deposited even though I elected to have fees taken out by Santa Barbra bank and trust. |

What everyone is saying about the RAL's and having tax preparation monies taking out of your check is a LIE. And that QUANTUMR guy should really shut the hell up. Yes we will get the money but we should get it, when THEY SAID WE WOULD GET IT - PERIOD!
Both me and my husband used turbo tax with direct deposit. I did my taxes in feb, I just did his on apr 14th. His last two are 20, mine are 11.
He received his money on apr 28th. I'm still waiting. So....there goes that theory. Plain in simple, like all other things, the government is full of crap! We should have all known better then to think that they would do anything right! Now they are using the stupid excuse of telling people its because of RAL's??? Well how come they didn't state this prior to the day we were all expecting our money??? Why didn't we hear about this until we are all looking for our checks????
Regardless, my situation is proof that this is a lie. Both of our taxes were done the same way and my husband got his before mine. |

I just got off the phone with the IRS..it's amazing how we all get off the phone w/ a helpful IRS agent but still have different stories. She said b/c the info on file is for SBT&T the IRS will send a paper check. She said the account info that goes into them from SBT&T is a temporary account set up only for our initial refund. I am soooooooo angry!! I went from possibly getting it next week to not get it until the end of june...I really was counting on that money to come |

Those will be paid by check. Nobody has received a check payment yet as it will e 2 weeks or more before the IRS starts sending out rebate checks. |

quantumrift is absolutely correct. i just got off the phone with a very polite & helpful man at the IRS. He specifically stated that whether you paid fees with TT, went to H&R Block or anything else had nothing to do with your stimulus check. Its plain & simple. If your original refund was direct deposited into YOUR bank account then thats how you will receive your stimulus refund. Any other way you'll get a check. |

I have come to the same roadblock...H&R Block says it will be direct deposit and IRS says I will get a paper check. Does anyone have any concrete info? |

That is wonderful news! We wouldn't be due til next week, but I was becoming pretty much convinced that it would be a paper check (even though I called the IRS and was told DD....another agent told me paper). I hope we continue to see more TurboTax/SBBT people (those who had just the fees held out, but didn't get an actual RAL) let us know if they received direct deposit. |

My social ends in 01, and I was direct deposit, via Turbo Tax with the fees deducted from my return. I have not received any letters, nor show anything pending on my bank account. When I click on "Where's my Stimulus Payment?" I am told that they cannot track it and that I probably have entered information incorrectly. Well... that's impossible. I've also received varying information regarding the amount I am to get back.
I only know that my child support is stuck in limbo somewhere and this is my fourth week without it. I am in dire need of my refund and I really hope it gets here soon. I cannot possibly wait until June. |

My SSN ends in 13 and we received our refund electronically. I also just checked and it does say US Treasury 220 on our statement. However, we have not received our stimulus deposit and the IRS says we will have a check mailed. What is the deal with this?? We are very disappointed. |

My ss number ends in 11 and used the TT SSb&t and i expect to get a check.. I have not gotten direct deposit yet as of today
"Under certain circumstances, however, the IRS has decided that taxpayers can only get their rebates by mail, even if they get their refunds by direct deposit. At TurboTax, this will happen if you use a "refund transfer" when filing your 2007 return. This service lets you pay for your tax preparation and/or e-filing from your refund proceeds, for an additional fee, under an agreement with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust ". |

I thought I was getting my check, but read this from the Turbo Tax Site: http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/kb/tax-content/tax-tips/5462.html
How will I receive it?
Most people will receive their rebates the same way they choose to receive refunds on their tax returns -- by direct deposit into their bank or other accounts, or by check in the mail.
If you haven't filed a return yet and you qualify for a rebate, you can select either method when you file.
Under certain circumstances, however, the IRS has decided that taxpayers can only get their rebates by mail, even if they get their refunds by direct deposit. At TurboTax, this will happen if you use a "refund transfer" when filing your 2007 return. This service lets you pay for your tax preparation and/or e-filing from your refund proceeds, for an additional fee, under an agreement with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust .
The IRS also says that taxpayers who use "refund anticipation loans" or RALs (loans made to tax filers against their expected refunds) will also be unable to receive their rebates by direct deposit. TurboTax does not offer RALs.
The IRS reminds you, if you haven’t filed, that using direct deposit is the fastest way to get both your regular refund and your rebate.
SO I GUESS I WILL WAIT FOR THE MAILMAN! |

The only thing that MATTERS is that YOU filed a 2007 Income Tax Return. PERIOD.
It does NOT matter HOW you filed, only that you filed. TURBO TAX, nor any other method or program, have NO BEARING ON THIS ISSUE.
If you filed your return and got a tax refund via DIRECT DEPOSIT to your bank account, then your REBATE CHECK will be direct deposited to your bank account. The TIMING of the deposit or check will be based on the LAST TWO digits of your SSN. SO if the last two digits of your SSN ar 01 thru 09, you will get yours very soon if not already sent.
That is ALL anybody needs to know. 99..9% of EVERYTHING else is rumor, fluff, bs, lies, innuendo, false reports, speculation and gobble-de-****, and the other .1% simply isn't true.
CHILL OUT. IT WILL GET THERE. |

I talked to the IRS they said that if you had your tax prep fees taken from your return then it is considered a refund anticipation loan. therefore you will get a paper check. because they receive a different routing and account #.
so you will get a check instead |

Got ours this morning! Checked at 745 CDT when I woke up. Used Turbo Tax to deduct fee and received normal refund using direct deposit. Last two - 15. |

I used TaxAct to file my 2007 taxes. That said, I called the IRS because we were expecting our stimulus payment via direct deposit, which is how we got our refund. What I found out is that per the IRS, when you go through a tax company, TaxAct anyway, even though you put your checking account number on your taxes, the company changes it to a clearing house account, then fowards the money to your account. Then, the IRS changes your direct deposit to a paper check. Yes, this stinks, but the IRS person told me that it is in some fine print. (where? I still do not know.) Hope this helps |

Why is everyone getting so upset about "expecting their money" on a certain date. Is everyone forgetting that this is money being given to you? It is free money, stop complaining and just be grateful you are getting anything. |

There is in fact a place on the IRS website that informs you when and how much your stimulus check is for. But you have to click on "Where's my refund" first and if you scroll down just a little, you will see in purple highlighted letters "WHERE'S MY STIMULUS CHECK" click on that. It will ask you for your ss#, filing status and the number of exemptions from your 2007 tax returns. THIS DOES EXIST, I DID IT MYSELF |

My husband and I had our refund direct deposited into our checking account back in January and we used Turbo Tax. Of course we did pay the filing fee of like 50 something dollars, I think it was, but we did go through the SSB&T, too. My husbands ssn was the primary SSN on our taxes and the last 2 of his are 15...so needless to say I'm patiently waiting on my refund. They said that they were starting on Monday, of course, depositing the funds on Tuesday and Wednesday and then taking a break on Thursday and depositing the rest on Friday? Maybe ... lol, I have no idea, but it'd be nice to have the funds here by Friday because my bday is Thursday. That'd be so nice. |

On the IRS website it tells you when you will get your direct deposit. Notice it says direct deposits will be in the bank "by" such and such date. That doesn't mean on that date, it means by that date. And the IRS does not have a place to find out where your rebate check is. That is only for your normal refund for this last tax return. And the IRS is not going in any kind of order that I can tell. We are in Texas and I know people who have gotten their rebate check and their SS # is a high number. I know people who have not gotten their rebate deposit and their last two numbers end in 01. So it seems to be a random thing. I guess we just all have to wait and see |

Visit the IRS site, which list direct deposit dates by last 2 digit of SS#, starting 5/2, 5/9 etc. If you did not file electronically with direct deposit, you will receive a check- they don't start sending checks for a couple of weeks. You can also track your check or deposit on this site if your ss # falls within the current digits. |

The first direct deposits are slated to go out May 2. The second on May 9th. It is based on the last 2 digits of your social security number. On the 9th it is those with digits somewhere between 03-07. |
