CS2002 | Has anyone spoken to an irs agent recently about the stimulus rebates? |
I know I have to wait until 6/6 for my paper check to be mailed, but I am noticing posters on this site with higher ss #'s receiving their paper checks in the mail, and a lot of people with very low numbers didn't even get it yet.
Has anyone called and spoken to an irs agent about how they are sending out the rebates? Is it alphabetical now? I know they quote the date that's on their paper check mail schedule, but they're not going according to that. It seems too random.
Please post your opinion on what is going on. PLEASE! DON'T POST THE MAIL SCHEDULE. I have that, thank you.
Just post your knowledge about how irs is doing it or your opinions. Thank you.

I called the automated rebate hotline this morning, and my check will be mailed on 5/28. I still can't get any info on the Where's My Stimulus Payment.
To me that was a weird date, being a Wednesday, but who cares. I thought the irs only mailed checks on Fridays.
One other thing, the automated system said I should have received a letter in the mail explaining my amount, et cetera.
I guess I should be receiving that any day - too bad it wasn't my check.

I got my letter yesterday saying that I will get my by the 23rd and my num is 15 , so I am in waiting ... to answer you question I was told by someone that some people who filed taxes first will get there's faster ,I am not sure how correct that is but I know people with higher ss num then me and has gotten there's !

I got a real person when I called last week. She said that IRS was on the schedule and checks were going out in order of SS# but some people who filed later are in a different system. Some higher numbers fell through the cracks and got DD early. But as far as I can tell no one has gotten a paper check early. |

They are still being sent out by the ss# last two digit, but SOME, far from all, are being sent out earlier than the schedule. |

IDK what they are doing, my SS# ends in 10, and i got the letter but no check yet..but i did see some ppl with WAY higher SS #s than mine got their checks already..i am starting to think they might be doing some of them by last name |

this doesn't account for everyone but I believe some people are confused because in joint filing it goes by the first person on your returns digits. So like me, my last# are 29 and I got my check yesterday................but my hubby's #06 so it went out on schedule the 16th

the irs is processing rebates on 2 different systems one old and the other new.if you get the rebate earlier than scheduled you got lucky b/c you are on the new system and if on schedule you're on the old one,that's how some with higher socials are getting theirs earlier,they are doing them randomly on that system,how u get on that system is randomly also,PURE LUCKINESS! |

Assuming the tax return was PROCESSED by April 15, the checks are being sent out according to the schedule. A number of things can delay it, including:
An amended return that is currently being processed;
A liability on a related Social Security number or EIN;
An unfiled tax return for an earlier year;
An "injured spouse" claim.
Some checks may be going out sooner if the return was processed by the newer computer system. Contrary to another post, however, whether or not it was processed by that computer isn't random. The new system only processes certain types of returns. Each year it will process more and more types of returns until it is fully implemented. |
