Has anyone who used turbo tax and had your prep fees taken out of your refund received a rebate by dd?
I have read that we are suppose to receive a check if we did this, but after calling the irs twice I have received two different answers. I guess i will wait on hold for another hour and go for two out of three! Just spoke with another representative and she said that I should receive it by direct deposit, but because i have received different answers prior she has transfered me to another department that is suppose to be able to look at your account info and tell you exactly how you will receive your rebate. I am on hold as we speak and will update their response soon!!!
Additional Details
Well I just got off the phone with the irs dept. that can look at your actual account and tell you how you will receive your rebate and they said it will be mailed because whatever third party forwarded the funds to your checking account is the direct deposit info they will have and since it is no longer valid will result in your rebate being mailed!!! So for all of you who did your taxes and had your prep fees taken out whether you did it online or in HRblock will have your check mailed to you!!!!

You'll get a paper check.

According to the Turbo Tax website under "Deducting TurboTax Fees From Your Tax Refund When E-filing":
"With the recent enactment of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, TurboTax does not ask for deposit information for your economic stimulus payment.

The IRS says taxpayers who use certain financial transactions with third parties to obtain their refunds will receive their rebates by mail—even if they got or will get their refunds by direct deposit."

Have you received an answer yet. I have heard both. My friend had her fees withdrawn from her refund and received her rebate yesterday by DD. Please tell me what you find out.

I filed my taxes online with the fee withdrawn and they did DD for my rebate.

I think you are referring to H&R Block where you have the option to have your preparation fees taken out of your refund. Turbo Tax doesn't charge a preparation fee. If you wanted to e-file your return, there was a small fee. I can't remember having THAT fee come out of my refund as an option. . .I do remember that I could pay the e-file fee via credit card. Is that correct? Otherwise, there really is no "third party" involved.

<sniff> Oh, this is SAD news for me! I was so glad I had done DD and was thinking we'd get our check quicker.

But according to what I'm understanding here, because we had our taxes done at H&R with our fees taken out of the refund, I guess we'll have to wait for paper checks. BUMMER

My page from H&R says about our delivery: "The Refund Anticipation Check (RAC) direct deposit will be available in about 8-15 days for the estimated amount of....$...

Was a little confusing since it calls it both a "check" and "direct deposit".

This is what Turbo Tax has to say on the matter:

"Will my economic stimulus payment be direct deposited into the same bank account?
No. With the recent enactment of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, TurboTax does not ask for deposit information for your economic stimulus payment.

The IRS says taxpayers who use certain financial transactions with third parties to obtain their refunds will receive their rebates by mail—even if they got or will get their refunds by direct deposit."

I'm sorry that is not the answer you want, but because your return was intercepted by a 3rd party then you will recieve a paper check!
