We are supposed to get our stimulus direct deposit on May 9th. It's May 10th and no stimulus. We filed direct deposit when we received our first federal refund.
HOWEVER, we filed for an amendment. Could that be what is holding it up?
Really, what I'm asking is did you receive your direct deposit right away for May 9th or could it be Monday before I get because of the weekend. May 9th recipients only please. |

Two things:
1. Filing an amended return can delay your rebate if the IRS started processing your amended return before your rebate was processed. An amended return changes your tax liability and the IRS can't compute your rebate until they know what the correct liability is. Amended returns take 8 to 12 weeks to process, so don't look for your rebate for at least 10 to 14 weeks after you filed the amended return. If it arrives before that, just be pleasantly surprised.
2. The published schedule is an ESTIMATE ONLY. Your mileage may vary substantially either way. But since you file an amended return, it may not apply to you at all anyway. |

Havent seen mine and on the irs site they said I should have gotten it yesterday. I am beginning to think its a bunch of crap and the IRS had poor planning. They got peoples hopes up. If they couldnt get everyones out on the time schedule then they should have split it up more so they could get it out on time. Wonder if people that are getting theres mailed will have a problem. Sounds better just to wait for a paper check, because this DD is driving everyone crazy. |

I HAVENT RECEIVED MINE YET EITHER MY DATE OF DIRECT DEPOSIT WAS THE 9TH ALSO. I EFILED, HAD MY REFUNDS DIRECT DEPOSITED, BUT I HAD THEM TAKE OUT TURBO TAX FEES SO IM WONDERING IF THAT IS WHAT IS HOLDING MINE BACK FROM ME. |

If you filed for a "rapid refund" type loan, you will be sent a paper check instead...if you owe back taxes, you will not get a stimulous check....if you made any type of adjustment to your federal tax filing, your stimulous check will be delayed. Go to the IRS wesite for more info..... |
