Turbotax works just fine. They are simply a go-between for ou and the IRS, just like your accountant would be. You do all the work and don't pay any more than stated. Works fine. Be careful not to fall for the "Guaranteed correct calculations or your money back" B.S. as this is like guaranteeing that you calulator is going to giving you the correct answer to 1 + 1. Literally. Of course the calculations wont be off, but your input might be....so just be careful. You shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!

I've used them for years. I like that I can do it myself and that it asks me to double check things before I complete it. All the questions make me feel like I'm covering all exemption options available to me. And its usually free due to our income bracket. Gotta love free!

Did my own taxes for years and then tried Turbo last year ....They are fabulous. Thorough, simple and user friendly. Highly reccomend it!

TurboTax does as good a job as any software. However, I feel bound to observe that the firm I work for has gained more clients in the past year who used to use TurboTax (or similar) than from any other source. For a growing firm, that is actually quite scary.

I've used turbo tax before to file my taxes, this year I filed through expresstaxrefund.com and this was less complicated...the step by step process was much easier than turbo tax

I used turbo tax once before I became a tax preparer. It was fine. I would caution you that sometimes you "don't know what you don't know" meaning that miss a deduction simply by not knowing you might be entitled to it. Also, if you have a drastic change in your financial situation (buy a house , get married, get an inheritance, etc.) it is a good idea to talk it over with a professional.

Yes, I have been using it for the past six years. It is very simple and easy to use. There is no need to pay a company like HR Block, which is what I use to do, if you can follow simple instructions. I only reccomend using it for simple tax returns, for more complex tax returns, a professional should be utilized.
