I called the IRS today to ask about a pending 1040X and also asked this famous question about the Stimulus payments. Her exact comment was "some ssn's are on a new software program and are getting their direct deposits early" She also went to say that you will have it "by" the date on our website.. which ours is the 16th. If you go to MSN money it says that all direct deposits will be "sent out" by the 2nd, which makes since if the IRS starts regular mail a week later on the 9th???Right? My personal opinion is.... they are covering their behinds if they get behind their new found schedule so that is why they have not changed their schedule online??? So really customer service is still claiming the original dates and still says the first roll out of direct deposits will be in your bank by the 2nd. For the rest of us not in the first roll out.. well I guess we will just have to wait and see who is reporting the correct dates here and please no one hold your breath.. it is the government! Seems to me that they would prepare everyones and send them on the same day since we all are feeling the grocery and gas pump crunch! |

I don't think it is based at all on your SS anymore for direct deposit. Check out this web site....it says ALL of them will be deposited out by May 2nd...friday. |

Did you have your taxes done at Jackson Hewitt or somewhere similar? If I'm not mistaken, even if you had it deposited, it will be mailed. It will only be deposited if you sent your taxes in directly to the IRS.
However, I could be wrong. |

I haven't either. I should have gone out Monday, I thought. I have gotten my federal refund today but not the stimulus refund. No state yet either. I hope I get it by Friday! I was all excited that I would be one of the first! It made me nervous too, but surprise, surprise, the govt is behind, after saying they were ahead. Sounds familiar. |

Yeah im not old enough to get one but my mom was telling me she was suposed to get hers on monday to and she dident get it.

I dunno what is going on with them... our taxes were direct deposited and we did them on the very day they started taking tax returns for 2007, I think it was Jan. 11th... and we havent got ours.. so who knows any more, I tend to not rely on the gov. for anything any more/ |

I hope this helps guys, if your ss# is between 00-20 and you used direct deposit for your tax refund, you will get your stimulus check by friday at the latest. Yes they started sending them out, but they are not going in order of ss#.They are going in the order in which you filed your taxes. So those who filed taxes in early jan. and used direct deposit, and their ssn# ends in 00-20 will get theirs first. |

I qualify for the rebate and my SS ends in 08. I have also been watching my bank account for 2 days now, as my refund was direct deposited back in February. Someone in another thread said that the IRS started sending out rebates Monday, but only to about 10% of the first group. The will send out the remaining 90% over the next few days, but all people who qualify with SS# 00 - 20 should have their check (if they used direct deposit) by May 2nd.
What I wonder is, who do we call and what do we do if we don't have it by then? I tried calling the IRS to find out more, but even though they can check my tax returns they still can't track individual rebates! |

No check here either in North Carolina. We don't even know if we qualify or not. Naturally the rules are so confusing! Just wait and see. |

The last two of my SS are 02 and I haven't gotten mine yet and it's Wednesday. I did direct deposit filed directly with the IRS in early March.
Is it even true that anyone has gotten theirs yet? |

you arent the only ones, and thursday they arent sending any checks, and friday they will double the number they do. I read that they are really behind and having a hard time keeping up, so who knows. i think they are just making us wait anxiously for our money back. |

You should receive it by Friday. Only SOME are being direct deposited early, not all. |

umm, i thought that they wern't delievering them until starting may 2nd with ss numbers 00-09...but i could be wrong.. |
