If your friend is working for an emplopyer and the employer is failing to deduct tax and NIC, then the employer will have to pay if he is found out, plus interest, plus a penalty of up to 100% of the tax evaded. Not your friend's liability.

Happy
The person in question won't get an old age pension and if they get caught they may well end up in court and courts love sending tax evaders to prison.

Aoqua
If you get caught th etax office will decide whether you just owe them a lot of tax or if you've been evading tax. If the former, you'll have to pay it back in instalments with interest. If the latter it's court and maybe prison.

Council tax is set against the house and not individuals, so unless your name was registered as home tenant no repercussions. If you are taking regular monies from a firm this may show up on book inspection as they are not allowed now to pay regular casual labour. Could be bought to account for that.

A gentle spanking + interest.

The IRS expects everyone who works to pay taxes. They can and will penalize you if you are caught and one can go to jail for income tax evasion.

All it will take is for someone to get mad at you and turn you in.

You can always file those tax statements and make arrangements to pay what you owe.
