After work today I filled up my car. It costs me over $4.00 a gallon. I got my pay check made about $700 before taxes.Uncle Sam took out over a hundred dollars in my check. After that I came home turned on the news nothing good in the world. Its all going to hell. Do any of you in the UK feel like youre just a number to the government and produce taxes for them nothing else. It seems all political parties love to tax you and more they get the better. So youre damned no matter who you vote for. You are born go to school, get a job pay taxs and then die. Your kids continue the cycle. |

hello from the UK, you think you have it bad our petrol (gas) is over $10 a gallon!! and the tax on your wage packet here would be closer to $200, so from your point of view it could be worse my friend.
Got to agree with you totally, but we (on both sides of the pond) keep voting in ***** that do nothing but what the big corps want, the richer get richer (and how!) and the poor will carry on getting poorer.

Come to the U.K., our Governments are past masters at the taxing game. I.E. fuel; Heavy Oil (Diesel) £1.30 a litre.
U.K gallon= 4.546 litres, hence a gallon of diesel is=£5.91.
In U.S dollars that's approx $11.82.
U.S.gallon= 3.7854, so that's $9.84, and that is the cheapest.
Almost everything you do here is taxed, accept sex. When they start to do that, i'm putting in for a rebate! |

I understand completely. my husband has a long drive to work and we use approx 2 tanks of gas a week. which equals out to about 1/3 of his paycheck every two weeks.. we are barely making ends meet and now because of all the flooding the food prices are going to skyrocket.. I can barely afford to feed my family now I dont know what I'm going to do wen the prices go up AGAIN!.. |

Yep life is pretty crap considering some of us are living in so called civilised societies. I often wish I was like Neo from The Matrix. I could chose the red or blue pill to change my life. I could get unplugged from this life, drop off the grid and live a whole new other life. If only. Corrupt politicians are responsible for taxing us into the poor house! They are the same all over the world. Corrupt men in grey suits fighting for control of the coffers (oil, food, etc). Taxes pay for their lavish lifestyles, backhanders and mistresses stashed away in secret apartments. I pray one day we could live in a world where peoples' wanton desire for money, power or material goods were somehow wiped. Then you would never have to worry about slogging your guts out only to have your monetary reward eaten up in taxes, etc. |

We in the UK are taxed very heavy on our income on the products we buy, on the water we drink on the heating and lighting we use.
Petrol/gas is getting more expensive by the day.
Food is getting more expensive by the week.
That's how life is set up as you say born to do certain tasks
I do feel though some things are going up out of greed to make more money not because it as to!
I suppose the only thing we can rely on in the UK is the NHS go on the waiting list for treatment and wait for ever |

Couldn't agree more. Petrol (gas) in the UK is about £1.20 (60 cents US) a litre at the moment. It costs me about £70 to fill up. |

Under the present Brown dictatorship we in the UK are being sold to an even nastier dictatorship, the EU, 1984 is approaching in Europe and even though the Irish voted NO to the latest attempt to force a constitution on the people of Europe they still do not believe that it is dead. Yes, I'm getting really pissed off at the gas prices. Why the hell don't they drill oil here? Why are we depending on other countrys to provide us oil? We have tons of it...throughout Montana, Utah, the pacific coast and the gulf of Mexico. We haven't drilled any oil in this country for years. What the hell is going on?
Oh and Uncle Sam takes about $1,700 out of my check every two weeks. There a 350 million US citizens that they're are taking a lot of money from. Do they really need all this money? |
