Hello can you help me add tax to my avon products?
hello i sell avon and i need to add tax to the total amount of the products... our tax here is 8.25%
to find out the tax multiply the amount of the item(s) by .0825. For example if the item costs $4.95:
$4.95 x .0825 = .408 (round to .41) $0.41
$4.95 + 0.41 = $5.36 total
or a faster way to find the total amount is:
$4.95 x 1.0825 = 5.358 (round to 5.36) $5.36
this way you are multiplying the price times itself and the tax at the same time.

The simple mathematical way is to multiply the dollar cost of the item, i.e. $10.00 by 1+(tax rate in this case .0825) = $10.825
Kevin L
Total amount of the product(s)
X .0825
--------------------------------------...
Add those numbers together, to get the total amount with tax.
Example:
$31.63 (product cost)
X .0825
= 2.61
$31.63 (product cost)
+$2.61 (8.25% tax)
-----------------
$34.24 total with tax
If you don't want to break down the taxes, you can take the total x 1.0825
$31.63
X1.0825
---------------
$34.24
Some people like to have the tax broken out though, so they know the exactly what the tax was.

don;t you know how to use a calculator?
did you remember to get a state sales tax license and local business license?
Minniemousie
Every state tax office will supply you with a little card that has a chart of tax due on amounts from a quarter to a hundred dollars. You just go down the page and copy the proper amount for the sum of your sale.
For amounts over a hundred dollars you would look on the chart for the amount over $100.00 and add it to the $8.25 for the one hundred dollars.
Until you get a card, you will have to multiply the sum of the sale by .0825. In other words $50.00 times .0825= $4.13
50.00
. .0825
----------------
54.125 = 4.13 tax
I wish you well!

divide the total cost by 100 and then times that result by 8.25. You then add that amount to the total cost.

Ok let me know. I will help you,

Take the amount of the product and multiple it time 1.0825 and you will have the total price you should charge.
