..that it was because i didnt return my tax return form,but i didnt even recieve my tax return form,i live in a block of flats and think it may of got delivered to the wrong address.i made a fresh claim on the phone that day,i have now been waiting 4 weeks for a payment and have not recieved anything.i am a single mother and have been surviving on 60 pounds,income support, a week with 2 children.i have rung them every day and they havent provided me with any information,just that its still being processed.i suffer from epilepsy and am worried this situation will make me unwell.please can anyone give me any advice,i would be so grateful,thanks.karen |

You need to keep ringing them every day and be a pain to them. My friend had this problem too and ended up waiting nearly two months for her money. Although it is backdated to when you sent in the form - that does not help you surviving with two kids. If you are really struggling to cope - you could try asking them for an interim payment to tide you over until your full money comes through. Not sure if they can do this - but it might be worth a try.

Unfortunatley alot of people are in the same situation like you, some have even returned the form but it hasn't been received by Tax Credits so although they've done everything asked of them they still has their money stopped.
Tax credits will take you details over the phone but it can't be "fast tracked " by a Lone Parent adviser at Jobcentre as its a renewal & can only "fast track" new claims & changes in circumstances like starting work & need to claim Working Tax but already receive Child Tax Credits.
Since about April Inland Revenue have been advertising on television, radio, in the papers informing people who already receive Tax Credits whether its Child Tax or Working Tax or both that you should be receiving a renewal pack & to contact them if you haven't yet received it. You can't tell me you didn't see any of these.
So not matter how unpleasant it is for you to have to survive for the time being on your benefit & child benefit you've got no-one to blame but yourself. |

andrea b is right. There is a facility in your local HMRC office to claim an emergency payment , but we are not allowed to get involved in renewal cases. I'm afraid its a waiting game for you . |

Chances are your claim is being held up whilst they consider your eligibility (because of the unreturned tax form).
If benefits are your only income you need to get to your local DWP as you should have been fast tracked.
BUT the fastest route to resolving it all and getting paid is if you could get to your local tax office in person. Speak to someone there and they can process it all at the same time and they will give you an interim payment if they are satisfied with what has happened.

I am confused , i did nopt think you could get income support and tax credits as tax credits are apid if you go out to work. go and see your local CAB . |

I had this problem last year. If your award has been calculated you may be able to get an interim payment if you go to your local tax office. there is a complaints procedure but im not sure how long they decide is unacceptable for you to wait. i was told for 6 weeks my application was going through and to ring back in a few days and there was nothing holding my claim up, eventually i found out they had input one of my childrens names incorrectly which was the cause for the delay. once that had been put right it took just a few days to complete, so it might be worth checking your details are all correct. |
