Help! Still no tax refund! Filed 2/7, Accepted 2/8?
I still have not recieved my tax refund! I filed on 2/7, my return was accepted 2/8. I checked my status online last week and they posted that I would receive it by the 20th, then I checked today and it says:

We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless we find mistakes or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by February 16, 2007.

To sum it up, today is the 16th and there is no refund in my account! I called the bank an they said that there isn't anything pending. The IRS site says that I can't call them until 27th. What's this mean?? Anyone know what's going on?
Additional Details
I know I don't have any backed taxes, and I know that I don't have child support. I doubt there were any errors because it did the check for me before I submitted my return.

Doesn't it usually state:
You're refund will be directly deposited into your account on....

Because it didn't even say that, it said
We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless we find mistakes or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by February 16, 2007.

WOW-----Now I'm really confused! I just checked again and now it says that I should receive it by the 20th..

I really hope I get this by next week, I am going out of town.

If it was accepted by 11 am on 2/8, then if you had it direct deposited it should be deposited on 2/16, assuming there are no questions about it and you don't have any outstanding debts that it would be grabbed for. That's the published IRS schedule. Did you file direct, or did you go thru a preparer that has the deposit into another account, then deducts your preparation fees and forwards the rest to you? If you did that, then that would take a few additional days - not the IRS, but the preparer. If you filed direct, and there were no issues, then it should have gotten to your bank today - bank policies vary, but if it's not there on Monday morning, give them a call. If you had it done through a preparer who deducts your preparation fees from your refund, then call them and ask when they'll have it to you.

Good luck.

Patience please! It takes 7 - 14 days to receive your refund. Today is only day 8!

Mark W
You have to be patient. It has only been a couple of weeks; and thats not that long for the IRS. As they said, NOTHING you can do for at least 10 more days. It will probably show up Tuesday (not Monday since that is a bank holiday.) The way it works is if they post today, Friday it won't be in YOUR account until the next business day, which in this case will be Tuesday. I bet you get it Tuesday morning.

Calm down it's ok. If you filed on 2/7 it could take up to 2 weeks to see anything. If the IRS site said by 2/20 and then by 2/16 I would check on Tuesday. If nothing is there by then I would say you have no choice but to wait it out until 2/27 to call anybody and check on the status.

My husband and I filed back on 2/2 and we got our state refund on 2/9 and our Federal today. So it takes time just be patient you will have your money, just be thankful you didn't owe anything.

Maybe they had issues with your direct deposit and they are mailing your refund.

Or perhaps they found mistakes, or you owe other taxes or back child support. If that's the case, it could be months.

Let me get this straight. You filed your taxes a little over a week ago, and you're wondering where your refund might be. So you get on Yahoo Answers and post a question that will get a myriad of answers that will mostly be wrong, wade through these to decide which wrong answer fits the scenario you would most like the answer to be, then award that person the "Best Answer".

For the life of me, I don't see how this will possibly solve your problem, but for what it's worth... Please pick ME!

Hi there~

That sounds very frustrating to me for the status to keep changing like that. According to the IRS efile direct deposit chart, since you efiled on 2/7, you should of had a direct deposit today, 2/16. I efiled on 2/1, and my refund was deposited today into my bank account. But, whenever I would check the IRS site, it did have a general refund date of 2/20 for over a week before it changed to a direct deposit date. It sounds like there may have been a problem with your return, although those people usually get an error code which means they are reviewing your return.

Sorry to say, but the ones that got direct deposits today, actually did get them deposited into their accounts. It's hard to believe it would not get there until next Tuesday, unless you went through a tax preparer service and they had to take fees out and then redirect your refund to your bank account. In that case, it may take a few extra days. But, the fact the IRS website did not have a direct deposit date on it for you, it sounds like it is still getting processed. I think you need to call them and ask them the status--many others have done that and received some valid information. Good luck!

Calm down. Don't worry until the 27th. They are getting tax forms by the tons. Just be glad you do not owe.

It's called "When the government owes you, they can take their dear, sweet time, but if you owe them, you must pay now or be charged all kinds of late fees, interest, and whatever else they can charge you." Get used to it...

cyberbeauty
you need to contact the IRS, waiting for an answer it not going to do it , maybe it came in the mail and some one cashed it for you call them , look into it ,
