There are two kinds of tax "refunds":
1) some people get money "back" but it's just a form of welfare (wealth redistribution) -- they didn't pay that much tax to begin with.
2) others actually do get a tax refund which means they overpaid throughout the previous year. in other words, they gave the government an interest free loan. and the vast majority of people seem to think this is a good thing.
the public (= government-run) educational system must be doing a good job at dumbing people down. |
