As busy as those idiots are, I bet they regret this whole "stimulus check" thingy. They definitely don't have time to email anyone. Did you give them your email address? The news said BEWARE, it's a scam |

The IRS will NOT contact you by email. Do not reply to this email for any reason. It is most likely a scam trying to get your personal info. |

The IRS will not email or call any taxpayer for any reason. They have warnings posted about these phishing scams on their website. |

The IRS is not going to email you. Just delete that email immediately. You can go to the IRS site to see if you have a rebate coming, http://www.irs.gov. |

It's highly unlikely that the IRS or any other company would contact you by e-mail. It's common sense really. If you want to be sure the only way to know is to contact them and ask them about the e-mail you recieved. |

It has to be a scam. I got my stimulus check already and I didn't get any emails. If you filed your tax return then the IRS already has all the info that they need. If you are eligible for a rebate check, they'll send you a letter in the mail telling you that you are going to get one (you don't have to respond to the letter). You can call the IRS to see if they are actually sending out emails before you open it/send your information, but I'm almost positive that they will tell you it is a scam. |

The IRS knows who you are and if you are eligible. It will never ask you for your personal information over the internet. If you have any doubts, call them up and talk to a real person. Chances are that you received a scam. You can also forward the email to the IRS. |

The IRS has stated many times that they will never email or call people about their rebate checks. Someone else said that they recieved the same email, but they gave them all of their information. It was to late for them. |

IRS does not send out emails.
The IRS never sends out unsolicited emails, and under no circumstances, requests credit card information and pin numbers through email. Persons receiving emails that claim to be from the IRS should not attempt to visit any site contained within the email and should report suspicious emails to TIGTA or IRS.
Please notify the IRS of any phishing attempts by forwarding the suspicious e-mail to phishing@irs.gov. Materials forwarded to this mailbox will be examined and acted on by our information security staff. |
