As social security and medicaid is not optional, you can never keep all your check.

Sorry, we live in one of the most taxed countries on earth, but don't feel too sorry for us, we are still cheaper than many parts of Europe.

Uh, no..... welcome to the grown-up world.

If you are a dependent and make LESS than $5450, you won't owe federal income taxes. If that's the case, you update your W-4 at work to "exempt" to turn off the federal withholding. (If you make more, you leave the W-4 at 1 since you do in fact have a tax requirement.)

The rest of your paycheck, fica and medicare is mandatory. It cannot be turned off and it isn't refunded.

Ha! You're a working person now...being taxed comes with the territory. Any attempt to evade is illegal, even if you are a minor.

Move to another country.

Income is taxable, period. If you are making less than a certain amount, you will be able to file a tax return in April and get all your tax back.

Legally, that's your only option.

LOL--welcome to the real world! I assume this is a job that pay via legit payroll and is ongoing--not a one time deal? You can adjust your w-4 withholding so you get most of it back, but you don't want all of it in case you owe some taxes. (unlikely). Then you would submit a short form at tax time for the refund.

You cannot keep all your money. You have to pay taxes just like every other wage earner. Being a minor does not make you exempt from taxes.

Mike
Nope! Sorry, you must pay the piper, like the rest of us. Se la vie!
