its the best. its just an excel spreadsheet of the tax forms.
you'll learn a bit about excel, and about how our gov't works.
also dowload publication 17 from the http://irs.gov , it explains everything.
did I mention that its totally free???? |

Just fill out the forms. There's nothing to it. All you need to do is follow the directions in the instruction books the IRS provides for free.
Save your money, do it yourself. |

Use H & R online. Its almost the exact same thing as they use in their office cept you do the work and depending on the income and paperwork it's a ton cheaper. |

Turbo tax has different questions it asks to be sure everything is covered.
H&R Block has an online file option with access to a tax pro for any questions.
Turbo Tax you can save your data. So a lot of it depends on your preferance. Check both out and see which of the two you would be more comfortable with. |

Turbo Tax works pretty well - it walks you through each step of the process, including deductions, credits, etc. You can do it all online at Turbotax.com, and you can go through the whole process before you have to pay so you can see if you think its covering everything you've dealt with in the past. The only problem is that you'll be the one sifting through your receipts and forms to plug in all the right information. Once you're done and before you pay, print and send it, you can see how much you owe/get back and decide whether its worth paying or whether you'd rather go to H&R Block. Plus, you can e-file and get any refund through direct deposit, which can come faster than a check.
Good luck! |

i use turbo tax every year. i just do it online, no need to by the software in the store when it's free online. it takes you step by step and asks you all the questions. you do have to pay a small fee ($20/$30) bucks i think for them to efile your return but it's worth it. i went to liberty tax or someplace like that one year to just have someone else do it for me..you know what i got? some kid doing the same thing i could do online myself and i paid a whole lot more. i highly suggest you try just doing it online yourself. |

Use H&R blocks Taxcut software, you can purchase it online and download it, it's cheap than going to there office, and the software walks you through everything just as it does for them |

The Tax Cut program is a do it yourself program that also provides tax assistance from H&R Block w/o a fee and it runs around $50.00. It walks you through all the steps and if you follow it correctly, H&R Block will stand by you incase you get audited by the IRS. Good luck! |

it works, or you could call around and price it out with the other companies.
Most are using computer programs any way. |

I've gone to H&R Block...yep...too much. Now, the last 2 years I've done my own using the forms at the Federal and State websites. I filled them in, printed them off and mailed them myself. I get just as much back as I did with H&R but I didn't have to pay extra! Also, you can read the directions on line! |

Yes, turbotax is great. They sell different versions depending on whether you own property or not and if you have rental property, own a business, etc.
Their ads also say they have an audit indicator, which tells you your chances of getting audited, based on your return. |

I have used Turb Tax for several years, Tried Tax cut last year, switched back to Turbo Tax this year. Very Easy to use. There is a free version available for you to use depending on income level.(government required the companies to offer this free. Unless you have very complicated taxes(own a business) or have sold stocks or property I would strongly reccomend doing it with one of these programs. Thats what the employess at block and other tax services do. just type in the information into the same program for you. (daughter-in-laws brother worked for block) |

yes, but be verrrrryyyyy careful! if you mess up your taxes, you could be haunted by the IRS for years and years, this happened to a friend of mine. honestly, i would rather pay H&r because if anything goes wrong its their responsibility! |
