You really need to wait for your W2. They have to be out by January 31, it's only a month. |

You're welcome to file your tax form any time you want. The only requirement is accuracy.
Your final paycheck should have all of your year-to-date information. You'll need total pay for the year and total federal withholding.
Send in a copy of your final paycheck with your 1040, and you're good to go.
Just don't expect your refund any time soon. Even though you don't want to wait for your W-2, the IRS will. They won't even look at you until it arrives or Feb 15, whichever comes first.
Then, you'll get your refund via snail mail, which means up to 6 weeks. This is because tax preparers who file electronically are required to have on file a copy of your W-2. And since you don't have one, you have to do it the stone-age way.
(Sorry, Becky F is correct. You also have to have your employers's federal ID number. This is sometimes recorded on your pay stub, and it will be a 2 digit number, a dash and 7 more digits. Old W-2's will have the number, and if that doesn't do it for you, any company license hanging on the wall might have it, just don't mistake your company's state business license number.) |

Wait until February 15 and then you can file with a pay stub. Otherwise you need a W2 to file. |

You need your W2 form which your employer has to send to you in January of 2007. |

Your W2 should be coming from your employer by January 31st.
If you do not receive it by then contact your HR or Payroll Department to inquire.
Other than that it is best to wait 'till then.
Hope this helps.
God Bless and Happy New Year! |

There is a poster up at the store that says they can file your taxes for you with your last paystub. Your paystub has all the info on there for the whole year (assuming that is the only place you have worked all year) But what I don't understand is...you need the companies Federal ID #...how do they get it? Do they just call your company up and ask? (which they totally can do...it's no secret). If you want to file it yourself...go to H&Rblock.com and you can do it there. I do. |

you have to have all financial info for 06..I doubt that you do with this being just Jan 1. So you can't file yet. |

You can not legally file your taxes with a paycheck stub. Some companies do a pre-file of your tax return. What this means is you show them your last check stub, they estimate what your are getting back and will loan you part of your refund. It is very costly though. When you receive your W-2 you then go back to the place that loaned you the money and then finish filing your tax return. Jan 12th is the earliest one can efile. This is my business. You should only do this if you have to feed your family or keep your electric on. The fees add up real fast. You might want to ask first how much it total fees will be. |
