How do I report someone that hasn't filed their taxes in the last 4 years?
I know a woman who hasn't filed her taxes with the IRS over the last four years. She hasn't done this because she is a single parent and doesn't wish to pay for childcare. This woman makes almost $50,000/year and receives child support from her ex-husband. Her self-admitance is the only proof I have. Can I still report her for tax evasion, and how would I do it?

You can report someone who does not file their taxes. You would need to fill out IRS form 3949-A. If you don't want to file the form, you can simply send a letter to:

Internal Revenue Service
Fresno, CA 93888

Make sure to include the following information:

Name and address of the person you are reporting
The taxpayer identification number (social security number for an individual or employer identification number for a business)
A brief description of the alleged violation, including how you became aware of or obtained the information
The years involved
The estimated dollar amount of any unreported income
Your name, address and daytime telephone number

You don't have to include your own personal information. You can send the letter anonymously.

I have listed the web address for the information you need.

Call the IRS at 1-800-Tax-1040. That is the general phone number for the IRS or you could look for information on there website which is www.irs.gov.

I am curious though - how does this woman earn this living. If she is an employee then her employer is probably taking her income tax out of her income. The woman may actually be owed a tax refund.

Yes you can... IRS.gov and give them her name and address! Try this...

BTW... if they blow you off, contact your state attorney general's office. They can get to a higher ranking person in the IRS and your local office will get in a crap load of trouble!

Don't you worry............Uncle will come to her door one day and it won't be pretty.

Look at IRS.gov for criminal investigation if this is keeping you up nights.

RJP
Are you jealous? Its her choice obviously their are consequences to her actions. I would suggest you mind to your own affairs.

The Wraith of God is coming
As I recall you can get a 10% finders fee from what that person owes.

Good luck it may get harry.

This situation doesn't make sense - how would not filing income tax help the woman to not pay child care?

If she's making that part up, she might well be making the rest of it up too.

I would probably mind my own business. People lie all the time and you cant be sure she hasnt filed just because she told you so. If you are looking for trouble, you may find it because if she gets audited she will assume you had something to do with it. And you may find yourself at the end of an IRS audit yourself one day. Ever heard of Karma! Let the professionals handle it.
