Write down the original number on paper.
Type in the number and divide it by 100
Multiply that by 18
Write down the new number
Hit clear
Type in a new equation, subtracting the second number from the first number.

multiply the amount by 0.82

hence 18 percent off 100 is :

100 x 0.82 = 82.

Take the amount you want to take 18% from and multiply it by .18 For example:

$9.00 x .18 = $1.62

$1.62 is 18% of 9

I hope this helps.

Divide the number by 100 and then multiply the answer by 18. Subtract the result (which is 18%) from the original number.
For instance:
the number is 640
640/100 = 6.4
6.4 X 18 = 114.2
640 - 114.2 = 535.8

Here's an example:
Whats 18% of 300 ?
Solution 300 X 0.18 =54
300-54=246

Let the any amount be X.

18% will be 18/100.

18% off any amount means 18/100 * X.

You first press 18 on the calculator, then you press the key which shows a / (This signifies the division sign).

Then you press 100 from the keyboard.

After that, you press the key * and then press the value X.

Then you press the = key and you will get the answer.

easy, here is an example. 20% of 90, divide the percentage by 100 and multiply the number (90) with the answer. so on a calcualtor it is: 20/100= 0.2 x 90= 18. So the answer for my example is 18. Get it?

Using your calculator, type in price times 18% then equals. That will give you the amount to take off. Or you could do price times 82% then equals. That will give you the amount the item would be after taking off 18%. If you dont want to use the% key, use multiply by .18. You get the same answer.

To take 18% off 430 for example, on most calculators you key in:
430-18%=
However, if your calculator is a Casio, it will probably say 2288.8888..., and that is wrong.
For a Casio, you have to type in 430x18%-=
The answer to this sum is 352.6
