I'm in the south east too and I also used to have a tiny flat in the centre of a town and it was just stupid, but then again in towns you do get the services they offer, like getting your rubbish taken and the street lights and police and that, I don't like the way it's so expensive in the coutryside though where you don't get decent roads or streetlights or pavements but it's still just as much.

think yourself lucky, i have a business paying Business Rates of almost £10k a year, and there's NO living accommodation, NO BINS/BINBAGS, NOUGHT! paying for the privilage of being in TOWN and keeping people in JOBS! |

I'M fed up with the fact that the cost of subsudised housing and housing benefits in a small relatively wealthy town exceeds the cost of everything else in total. So now you know where over 50% of the charge goes. |
