If you are in a profit related pay scheme part of your wages/salary will be made up from profits the company makes over the financial year. If they make little or no profit due to a slump in demand for their products your wages/salary will reflect this just the same as it would if the company made record profits...You would expect an wage/salary increase. |

Well..lets see...if no one is buying your product..there is no money coming in to pay the employee's.
If there are tons and tons of sales and there is a profit..guess what.. Paid employee's. |

I would venture to say, that if the supply of workers exceeds the demand, wages will drop as there are more people competing for the same job(s). Conversely, if there are more jobs than applicants, wages will tend to go up as the supply of workers is less. |

If you are referring to the supply and demand of labor, it is pretty simple. When you have hundreds of applications for a job opening, you are going to offer less than you would if you had two applicants. In a market where there is an excess of people seeking work, you can often hold down your labor costs. |

usually wages are not effected directly by supply and demand the first thing effected is number of jobs if the demmand goes up prices go up thus the number of workers needed rises vice versa but supply effects the profit and if the profit drops workers can't be paid as much thus there are pay cuts or job cuts |

If there is a large supply, people working to make the items won't have anything to work for, and may be paid less, or get laid-off.
If there is a high demand for a product, more work may be necessary, and employers may give workers a higher wage. |
