You can claim instantly but whether you will be paid anything or sanctioned is totally up to the DWP and you wont know until you have claimed
Basically if you have a good reason for leaving the job...eg stress then they wont sanctioned you |

You need to claim the day after you finish work.If you leave your job without good reason then it will be sanctioned but if you have no income,there's a chance you might get Income Support and your contributions will be kept up to date |

Get your claim in for Income Support or JSA (which won't be paid for frist 12 weeks) but you NI stamp will be paid for you. If you have dependants then it may alter the situation. Ring and make and appointment with the Job Centre Plus people. |
