YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH YOUR NEW EMPLOYER IF THEY HAVE YOUR P45. AS USUALLY YOU ARE GIVEN YOUR P45 WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR JOB.
I WOULD ALSO CHECK WITH YOUR OLD EMPLOYER,(IF NEW ONE DOES NOT HAVE IT)
THEN IF STILL NO JOY GET INTOUCH WITH YOUR TAX OFFICE,WHO WILL SORT ALL THIS OUT FOR YOU. REMEMBER THIS MAKE TAKE ABIT OF TIME,BUT IT WILL HELP IF YOU GET THE BALL ROLLING. |

Your old employer should have provided you with your P45, as your right and is the law...!!!!
I would ring your old personel/HR and ask them to send by post to yourself. |

Go to tax office and get a p46 and fill in yourself. Your new employer should have one of those too. |

I went through it and it took me a YEAR to sort out. My employees said the tax office had to sort it and the tax office said my employees had to sort it. I forget whom it was actually supposed to be, but it's lucky my dad is a very good lawyer and financial advisor, else I might never have got my tax code sorted (and my big fat rebate of over £1,000 - I was overjoyed, until I remembered that it had been mine by rights for some time).
Still, other people take a couple of weeks to get things sorted, so hopefully you'll have a little more luck than I did. |

a refund cant take AGES and you do not want to be on BASIC RATE TAX @ 20% so they have to give it to you ASAP
also if its older than 6 weeks since you left your last job then you will go on BR rate anyway
