smith.crystal93 | How long to get your refund if you mail your taxes in?? |
We have to mail our return this year, due to having sales of certain items....our accountant said we weren't able to e-file.
We also had some EIC on there, but are claiming the same dependents we've claimed for 13 and 3 years. (2 biological children) So our EIC isn't anything new by any means!!
We haven't mailed it yet, but I will be sending it off tomorrow. How long should I expect to wait for our refund?? (we are still having it direct deposited).... Additional Details Someone responded with "you should have e-filed".....we COULDN'T! Thats what I had mentioned right away. We had sales that added extra forms, which resulted in not being able to e-file. Otherwise we would have. We have every other year...just couldn't this time. |

According to the IRS:
If you file a complete accurate tax return, your refund will be issued within six weeks from the received date. |

I mailed mine and got it direct deposit. It took less than three weeks, but that was early in January. The longer you wait in the tax season the longer it will take to get back. |

I have no idea how long it's going to take, especially since I heard they were running behind. One tip I'd like to pass on is to send your return in via registered mail. That way, someone has to sign for it. One year, we waited forever to get our refund and when we finally made our way through the haze of IRS red tape, we discovered they never received our returns. We had to send them all over again. After that, we always sent them registered to be sure they got there and it always seemed like our refunds came faster that way. It only costs a couple of bucks more, but it's really worth it. Now, we just e-file. |

Varies - but give at least 3 weeks. Could take longer though. |

The later in the tax season you submit it the longer it may take. I know last year it was around 6-8 weeks. Probably around the time you get your stimulus refund from Bush. |

It shouldn't take that long. If you set up direct deposit, it takes about 2-3 weeks. If you're receiving it by mail, it should take about 3-4 weeks. |
