I would just use following steps:

1. Go to www.google.com
2. Search for "50 USD in GBP"
3. You will see a 'Real Time" answer -
50 U.S. dollars = 25.2143217 British pounds

Google has this embedded feature to convert most currencies.

Hope this helps.

If you use the guidline of 2 - 1 then there are 2 dollars to every £1. The answer to your question would be $50 = £25 approximately.

About £25.34 at the current rate of $1.97 to the pound.

However you won't actually get that rate as that is the trading rate and the exchamge process will take either a commision or a cut of the conversion.

Phillip J Fry
the current conversion is

$50.00 = £25.39

you can check it again if you want here
