Multiply your answer ($157.23) times ten cents on every dollar (0.1) and you get your total:

Your tax amount is: $15.72
Your total is: $172.95

If your computer doesn't have a calculator, or you can't find one, go to:

http://www.calculator.com

JAMIEEEEEEE!
tax=$15.72

so total is $172.95

157.23 dollars plus 10% tax is $172.95

By the way, you can always use google's caluculator function to caculate stuff like this. Just go to google.com, and type in 157.23 times 1.1 =)

hmmm so are you serious? WOW! i think you may be.

172.93 do ten cents or .1 times 157 and you get 15.7. now add that to 157.23 and you get 172.93.

rb_cubed
Golly Gee - A tax of 10 cents to a dollar is a 10% tax. Therefore the tax on 157.23 is 15.723. Add the two together and you get 172.953 or rounded off $172.95.

Now if you bought your thingy in Delaware, which is a tax free state, it would only cost you 157.23

Kristy&Levi
Around $15.90, give or take a few pennies. At the most 92 cents. I hope that helped. :)

Amelia Love
approximetively...173,95$

What state do you live in that charges ten percent sales tax? I didn't think any state in the US was that high.

And by the way, you don't need a calculator to figure out ten percent. All you do is move the decimal point over one place. Very simple. So as others have already pointed out, ten percent of 157.23 would be 15.72.

(That seems like the kind of thing you should learn in third or fourth grade -- at about the same time you learn how to spell "dollar".)
