The basic tax starting rate is 10%, followed by the standard rate of 22% (after personal allowances have been taken into account). If you're REALLY lucky, youmight even be on the 40% tax rate as well!! Anyway, the Inland Revenue will tax your first job (usually the one where you work the most hours) at the normal rate: 10%, then 22%. Your second rate will be given an emergency tax code.
You are not actually taxed any more on your second job than your first job. It just appears to be more, as you are not given the personal tax allowance.
I worked two jobs for three years, a couple of years ago. It's very hard work - but I found that it was the only way for me to make ends meet! Best of luck! |

Contrary to what everyone seems to believe you do not 'lose' all your wages on your second job to tax.
You tax code works by giving you a set allowance which you can earn before you pay any tax, then you have a small window where you only pay 10% tax, and the rest is at basic rate
Your tax code for your first job will remain unchanged, this will not be affected.
But, because you are using up your allowance on your first job your tax code for your second job will all be BR (22%). So you will pay the higher tax rate on ALL your earnings there.
It may seem like you are paying more, but you'd walk out with the same net pay as you would if the extra wages were added to your first job. |

It depends on how much you earn rather than how long you work or how many jobs you have.
The first few (about £3,000) is tax free then up to about £30,000 you will be taxed at 22%. If you're lucky enough to earn more than that then the remainder will be taxed at 40%. |

The annual income tax which you will pay depends on the amount earned annually.
The following are the tax rates
0 - 5035 Nil
Next 2150 10%
2151 - 33300 22%
Above 33300 40%
Now you can calculate your tax but there will be NIC (National Insurance Contribution) as well
Hope this helps |

You'll pay tax at the same rate as currently, unless the extra hours put you into the higher rate tax bracket, but then you'll only pay higher rate tax on the amount over the threshold. |

You will pay 22% tax on your second job. If you have not used up all your allowances and 10% rate in your first job, you may be in for a rebate on the second job |

You should claim the tax back from the job that pays the least or the one that isn't you main job. |

your part time job is classed as a fulltime job if your doing 40hrs a week...im guessing about half your second pay will be deducted |

40 hrs/week = Full time |

I don't know which country you work in, as tax legislation can be different everywhere.
However, if you are in UK, then in your second job, whichever is not your main one, you will pay Basic rate. Which means about 30% of your wages. Which is a lot, because you will continue paying taxes in your main job. |

You would pay the same amount of taxes on your second job as your first.
The only difference is if your second job bumps you up to a higher tax bracket you will pay more at year's end because you are earning more. |

Since you are only working part time, you are probably in one of the lower tax brackets. Just because you work more hours, doesn't mean that you are going to get into one of the higher tax brackets. You should make sure that both jobs don't withhold taxes or you are going to be withholding way too much. |
