It depends on lots of things, tax code, other earnings etc, NHI contributions. I reckon £18,000 is a pretty good guesstimate. |

depends on what your tax code is, most people have the same but yours may be different and that will alter the correct amount |

26000 - the 5500 odd allowance, then take 20% off what's left. Then, take off the secondary tax you pay whenever you buy anything (getting taxed twice, gotta love that), then take off the cost of paying for non tangibles (house insurance, car insurance, car tax, mot, breathing tax), which should leave you with about 0 pounds a month. No, wait, I forgot paying twice for your health care - national insurance AND private health insurance (unless you want to die waiting for treatment) - so you'd better start looking for a weekend job... |

(ANS) Since the recent changes to that Tax system from 1st April 2008, £26,000 minus 20% tax on the gross income.
£26,000 Gross
minus 20% (tax £5,200)
£20,800 NET after tax is taken off
