The code number on your last form P45 will be out of date, as it will not have been budget uprated. Depending on how long ago you left your job, there may no longer be a tax record for you.
I can't think of any circumstances as to why you need a tax code if you are not working. Its only function is to tell an employer how much tax to deduct from you.
Personal allowance of £5225, code 522L, is now way out of date. Current tax allowance is £5435, most people have a code number of 543L. |

What do you need it for? It will be out of date for most purposes now, so you'd need to ask the tax office for a new one. |

Either you call the tax office, or if you check with the HR at your work they should have it on your B45. |

You can telephone your local tax office using the link below to get the telephone number (if the link doesn't work just copy the address into your browser). They will be able to tell you what your correct tax code is.

your old employer should have given you a P45, this has your code on. Otherwise ring hte tax office and they can tell you what it is. You might find it on an old pay slip as they can have it on sometimes |

If you are not employed or not in receipt of a pension, you will not have a tax code. A code is only used for the PAYE system. You would still be entitled to the personal allowance from the UK, which for this year will increase to £6035 in September.
Can you give more info? Might be able to give alternative advice. |
